Large-Scale Home Remodels in Boulder County
For whole-home renovations, additions, and structural reworks across Boulder and the Front Range - run with the same pre-construction discipline and architect collaboration we bring to new builds.

01
The remodels we take on
This is not light remodeling. Fernhill leads substantial renovations: whole-home transformations, structural reconfigurations, significant additions, and projects where an older or undersized house is reshaped into something materially different - work where the scope is large enough, and the unknowns real enough, that how it’s planned determines whether it goes well. If your project is a single room or a cosmetic refresh, there are excellent firms better suited to it, and we’ll happily say so.

Why large remodels need pre-construction most
Remodels carry risk that new construction doesn’t: what’s behind the wall, under the floor, inside the existing structure. The projects that go sideways are almost always the ones that started demolition before anyone understood what they were demolishing. We front-load that uncertainty. Before commitments are made, we investigate existing conditions, price the real scope, and map where the surprises are likely to hide - so the budget reflects the house you actually have, not the one the drawings assume.

03
Design-led, even in an existing house
A major remodel is a design problem as much as a construction one, and it benefits from the same architect collaboration a new build does. We work alongside your architect or designer to keep the new work coherent with the bones worth keeping and honest about which bones aren’t. The goal is a house that reads as intentional, not as a series of additions negotiating an old floor plan.
04
Run like a real project
Large remodels are run on the same commercial-grade systems as our new builds: structured estimating, a real schedule, documented decisions, and cost reporting you can follow. Living through a renovation is disruptive enough. The process around it shouldn’t add to the noise.
