Our foundation continues to shape Fernhill’s approach today, grounding every project in craftsmanship, collaboration, and thoughtful execution.
Fernhill was founded by Alex Molkentin, whose perspective on building was shaped by generations of craftsmen before him. Raised in construction by both a father and grandfather in the trades, Alex developed an early appreciation for craftsmanship, discipline, and the responsibility behind building well. Years later, time spent living and working in New Zealand deepened his connection to architecture, landscape, and intentional living, ultimately inspiring both the philosophy behind the company and the name Fernhill itself, borrowed from a neighborhood in Queenstown where that vision fully took shape.
